One of the most valuable resources in any organization is not found in a report or spreadsheet. It is found in the feedback we receive from our team members. Employees are on the front lines every day. Because of that, they have unique insight into what is working well and where we can improve.
At Vitalia Highland Heights, creating a culture where employees feel heard matters deeply. It helps improve retention, strengthen engagement, and support informed business decisions.
When employees know their opinions matter, they are more likely to feel valued and respected. They are also more likely to stay engaged in their work, take ownership, and remain committed.
Employees who believe their voices are heard are more likely to stay. This can reduce turnover and help create a stable, positive workplace culture.

At Vitalia Highland Heights, a positive workplace culture includes encouraging employees to be themselves. Team members are invited to embrace their personalities and bring their authentic energy to work.
That sense of belonging matters. Employees often spend many hours together, sometimes as much time as they spend with their own families. Because of that, creating a family-like environment can help team members feel more connected.
When employees feel comfortable being themselves, trust can grow. That trust supports stronger relationships, open communication, and a workplace where people feel valued for who they are.
Collecting feedback is only the first step. The real impact comes from taking action. Regular one-on-one conversations give team members a place to share their thoughts.
The annual Great Place to Work® Survey also provides helpful insight. By reviewing those results and following up consistently, we can better understand what employees need. We can also turn feedback into meaningful improvements.
I believe transparency builds trust. Even when every suggestion cannot be implemented, communication matters. It is important to explain the “why” behind decisions and speak openly with the team.
This time of year is when we begin planning for our 2027 Business Plan. I am excited to use employee feedback to help shape that plan. Their ideas will help us continue going far together as a team in 2027.
Every suggestion, concern, and idea is an opportunity to improve. Feedback helps us strengthen our workplace, support retention, and better serve our residents and team members.
As Business Office Director of Vitalia Highland Heights, my goal is simple: Listen intentionally. Respond thoughtfully. Act consistently.
