This past year has been filled with many moments that will become beautiful memories at Vitalia Active Adult Community – North Olmsted. Our family, both residents and employees, has grown both in size and love. I am blessed to have been part of these memories and growth.
We loved spending time with residents and their families. Family Fun Month was celebrated with a party on our patio. This included family and friends enjoying good food, fun games, face painting, and many laughs. Our residents were excited to cheer on the high school students on their first day of classes. The residents greeted the kids with cookies and words of encouragement. A last-minute decision to join the North Olmsted Homecoming Parade was a hit. Our residents and staff had fun celebrating with the community. Our Tick-or-Treat Walk was also a good time. Residents and their families enjoyed handing out candy to children. We invited Chestnut Elementary School to join in the fun.
At North Olmsted, we have the best team members! Our culinary department, currently being led by Rocco, makes all the amazing food for our events, including Friday Happy Hours, that are a hit for all. Our wellness department is the most caring and trustworthy you will find. It showed in our Great Place to Work Survey results where Pam, our Director of Wellness, received a 100% rating in trust! Ashleigh, our Memory Care Director, and her team have spent their time engaging our residents in some fun adventures. Jennifer, our Resident Services Director, along with her Assistant Lauren, work endlessly making magic happen, so all the residents do not have time to be bored. Richelle, our Operation Coordinator, works from morning to afternoon making sure our residents are informed and happy. Greg, our Plant Operations Director, and his team work hard to keep the community clean and safe. Meryl, our Business Office Director, assists the department heads in finding the most amazing staff. I am blessed to work side-by-side daily with this team and their hardworking, caring staff.
We are fortunate to have some amazing vendors join us in our day-to-day journey. Fox Therapy, At Home Medical, and Hospice of the Western Reserve are just a few of the many.
The department heads and staff are always looking for ways to make each event bigger and better. We have many new ideas in store for next year but will continue to enjoy our currently scheduled monthly Sunday Brunches, Arrow Story Corner, and Wellness Wednesdays.

Every year Arrow’s personal and professional development coach, Michael Buckley, asks everyone to pick a “Word of the Year.” The goal is to look inward and consider what we each need more of and what might improve our lives. Sometimes we need more focus or clarity. Sometimes we need more compassion. Sometimes we just need […]

Did you know “The Twelve Days of Christmas” is quite a unique song? Besides the fact the singer’s true love gives a lot of very bird-heavy gifts, it has a long and interesting history. The first written documentation of the song was in an English children’s book from 1780 titled Mirth With-Out Mischief and the […]
